"body": "A short piece of fiction, written by API Evangelist. The reader is imagined; the post, and every number and quotation from it, is real: \"Sixty-Four Talks In Stockholm, And The Agenda Aligns With My Keynote,\" Kin Lane, October 12, 2026, https://apievangelist.com/2026/10/12/sixty-four-talks-in-stockholm-and-the-agenda-agrees-with-my-keynote/\n\nLena read it on the train from the airport into Stockholm, with the summit agenda open on her phone and three sessions starred, all of them about agents.\n\nThe post had counted the agenda. All 64 sessions, mapped to the facets of a scoring rubric. Forty-seven touched agent readiness, and 34 were mostly about it. The four foundation facets, contract quality, operational transparency, access clarity and contract governance, were the main subject of 23 between them.\n\nThen the table next to it, from the catalog. 64.5 percent of providers score zero on contract quality. 45.9 percent score zero on operational transparency. Across 28,597 providers, the correlation between the governance composite and agent readiness was 0.874, and not one of the 12,369 providers in the bottom band was agent-native.\n\n\"The room will spend two days on the layer,\" the post said. And then the sentence she screenshotted: \"Thirty-four sessions on what an API needs to become, and a handful on what it would have to be first.\"\n\nLena looked at her three stars. Her company's API had no contract anyone outside could read. She knew that because she had been asked for one twice this year.\n\nThe post pointed at the foundation talks and called them some of the best on the programme. A benchmark showing the same business API, designed well and badly, costing frontier models 30 to 77 percent more tokens. A talk on contract testing against drift.\n\nShe did not unstar the agent sessions. She was going to Stockholm to learn about agents and she still would. But she added the token benchmark and the contract testing talk, and she moved the closing keynote to the top of Wednesday, because she wanted to hear the argument from the person who had counted.",
